We are the “Promoter” of the prize draw (“Draw”) operated via our website (the “Website”), which means we are responsible for making sure it runs properly and fairly.

2.1 These terms and conditions (the “Terms”) explain how we operate each Draw and the rules of entry.

2.2 You should always read these Terms carefully before entering any Draw to make sure you understand them.

2.3 We may change these Terms from time to time. You should check this page each time you enter a Draw. We will indicate on our Website if we have updated our Terms, and any changes will apply from the date they are published.

2.4 By entering any Draw, you confirm that you understand and agree to be legally bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

3.1 Each Draw is open to all persons aged 18 years and over who are resident in England, Wales, Scotland, and (where stated on the Draw page) the Republic of Ireland.

3.2 By entering a Draw, you confirm that:

• 3.2.1 you are at least 18 years of age;
• 3.2.2 you have the legal capacity to enter the Draw;
• 3.2.3 you are complying with all legal requirements in your country of residence regarding entering this prize competition and prize competitions generally and you are lawfully able to enter the Draw;
• 3.2.4 you accept these Terms and any other Draw-specific requirements as detailed on our Website.

3.3 The following persons are not eligible to enter:

• 3.3.1 our employees or workers, or the employees or workers of any company in our group;
• 3.3.2 employees or workers of any organisation involved in the operation or administration of the Draw including prize suppliers and advertising agencies; and
• 3.3.3 members of their immediate families.

3.4 Entries will be void if they:

• 3.4.1 do not comply with these Terms;
• 3.4.2 are incomplete or illegible;
• 3.4.3 are postal entries sent with incorrect postage or to the incorrect address;
• 3.4.4 are received after the closing date and time of the relevant Draw;
• 3.4.5 are, in our reasonable opinion, part of an attempt to manipulate or unfairly influence the outcome of the Draw.

3.5 We may ask for proof of age, residence or eligibility. Delay or failure to provide evidence to our reasonable satisfaction may result in an entry being void or a prize being forfeited.

3.6 Our decision as to whether an entrant (or their entry) is eligible for the Draw is final. We are not obliged to provide reasons for any disqualification.

You can enter a Draw in any of the following ways (where available and as stated on the Draw page):

4.1 Online Entry

Complete the online entry process on our Website at www.goldenticketcomps.co.uk. The cost of entry (if any) will be clearly displayed on the competition page, along with any entry limits and the closing date/time.

4.2 Postal Entry (Free Entry Route)

You can enter by post using our free entry route. You may be required to register an account with us via our Website for that Draw.

Please send a handwritten postcard or letter including:

• Your full name
• Your Golden Ticket Comps account email (if applicable)
• Your postal address
• Your date of birth
• Your email address
• Your telephone number
• The name of the competition you are entering
• The correct answer to any qualifying skill/knowledge question (if applicable)

Further postal rules:

• One entry per postcard/envelope per Draw.
• Postal entries must be received by the closing date and time shown for each Draw in order to be processed in time.
• Postal entries received after the closing date and time will not be entered into the Draw.
• Valid free entries will be recorded and treated in the same way as paid entries.

4.3 Account Registration

• 4.3.1 To enter a Draw, you may need to create an account on our Website. Please follow the on-screen instructions. You must provide your correct name and contact details, including email and postal address.
• 4.3.2 It is your responsibility to ensure these details are accurate and kept up to date. We are not responsible or liable if we cannot contact you because incorrect details were provided.
• 4.3.3 You will create a username and password. You are responsible for keeping these details secure and not choosing a password that is easily guessed. If you believe someone else is using your account, please contact us immediately.
• 4.3.4 Once you have paid for each entry (if payment is required), you will be able to see and confirm your entries and Draw numbers in your account history.
• 4.3.5 For postal entries, we will allocate a randomly selected available Draw number to you.
• 4.3.6 You will not be deemed to have entered a Draw until we have confirmed your entry by email and/or by confirmation in the “My Account” section of your online account.
• 4.3.7 We reserve the right to refuse or disqualify your entry if we have reasonable grounds to believe that you have breached these Terms. In such cases, you may be required to return or reimburse any prize.
• 4.3.8 We reserve the right to reject entries that are unlawful, indecent, racist, inflammatory, defamatory, or which we otherwise consider harmful. We may suspend or cancel your account if necessary.
• 4.3.9 We accept no responsibility for late, lost or misdirected entries, including but not limited to entries not received due to technical disruptions, network congestion, loss in service of online entry mechanisms, computer error in transit, or delays in postal services.
• 4.3.10 Unless otherwise stated, there will only be one Draw operating at any one time for each competition.
• 4.3.11 The Draw will close when the closing date countdown ends or when all tickets are sold (if applicable), as stated on the Draw page.
• 4.3.12 The prize for each Draw (the “Prize”) will be clearly displayed on our Website.
• 4.3.13 Unless otherwise stated, there will only be one winner per Draw.
• 4.3.14 You may only create and use an account for yourself and must not enter a Draw on behalf of any other person.

5.1 Draw numbers will be entered into a random selection process using a random number generator, random wheel, or equivalent computerised randomiser. The Draw number randomly selected will be deemed the winner of the Draw (the “Winner”).

5.2 Unless otherwise stated, there will be one Winner per Draw.

5.3 The Draw may be performed and streamed live via our official social media pages (for example, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube or TikTok) and/or such other platform as we decide.

5.4 The Winner will be notified as soon as reasonably possible after the Draw. We will initially attempt to contact the Winner using the email address and/or phone number registered on their account. It is your responsibility to ensure your details are accurate and that our email has not gone into spam or junk folders. We are not responsible if you fail to respond within the required time.

5.5 If we are unable to contact a Winner within 5 days (or any longer period we may decide in our sole discretion) from the Draw taking place, or if the Winner fails to respond to us, or has breached these Terms, the Winner will forfeit the Prize. We may then re-draw a new winner from the remaining eligible entries.

5.6 The Winner must provide two valid forms of identification (one of which must be photo ID) prior to receiving any Prize. Failure to provide acceptable identification may result in forfeiture of the Prize, and we may re-draw the Draw.

5.7 Following successful verification of the Winner, we will arrange free delivery of the Prize to the address stated on your account (where applicable) within Great Britain, or as otherwise stated on the Draw page.

5.8 Where the Prize is a cash prize, we will endeavour to transfer the funds to the Winner as soon as reasonably practical after verification is complete.

5.9 For non-cash prizes, we will provide the Winner with instructions on how to book, claim or use the Prize.

5.10 Some Prizes (including, but not limited to, bespoke or custom-made items) are subject to availability and may require additional timeframes.

5.11 The Winner is responsible for any additional costs or expenses involved in claiming or using the Prize, other than those expressly stated as being included.

5.12 We are not liable for any damage to, or loss of, a Prize caused by any third party (such as a courier or manufacturer). If a Prize is damaged in transit or fails to be delivered, we are not obliged to provide a replacement, although we will assist where reasonably possible.

5.13 Winners are responsible for any tax or other charges that may apply as a result of receiving a Prize and should seek independent financial advice. We are not responsible for dealing with any tax authorities in this regard.

5.14 The Prize may be subject to additional terms imposed by the supplier or any other organisation connected to the promotion.

5.15 If necessary, due to circumstances beyond our control, we may (at our option) substitute the Prize for:

• 5.15.1 a reasonable equivalent of equal or higher value; or
• 5.15.2 a cash alternative.

5.16 The Prize is for the named Winner only and cannot be sold, gifted or transferred to any other person, unless we agree otherwise in writing.

5.17 Partial details of the Winner (for example, first name, surname initial, and county) may be obtained by contacting us at info@goldenticketcomps.co.uk or may be published on our Website and/or social media for up to 6 months after the closing date and time.

5.18 Entrants who do not want their details included in public Winner announcements must notify us within a reasonable period before the closing date and time of the promotion or promptly upon winning, and we will seek to respect such requests where permitted by law and applicable advertising standards.

5.19 Winners may be asked to take part in post-Draw publicity, which may include interviews, photographs and/or videos for use on our Website, social media accounts and marketing materials. Your social media profile picture may be displayed if you interact publicly with our content.

6.1 The personal information you provide when entering a Draw will be used by us and by third parties who assist with the operation and administration of the Draw. We will only use your data in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable UK GDPR requirements.

6.2 You should read our Privacy Policy carefully before entering any Draw, to ensure that our use of your personal data is acceptable to you.

6.3 By entering a Draw, you agree that we may use and/or publish your surname, county and a general description (e.g., “competition winner”) for transparency purposes, unless you request anonymity and such request is compatible with legal and advertising requirements.

6.4 If we are required to carry out identity or anti-money laundering checks for large cash Prizes or as required by law, your personal data may be shared with our payment service provider or other regulated partners to facilitate the prize payment and comply with legal obligations.

7.1 You will retain ownership of all intellectual property rights in any content you submit to us (for example, photos, videos, written material), but you grant us a licence to use it for any purpose connected to a promotion or our marketing activities.

7.2 This licence:

• 7.2.1 lasts for the full duration of the relevant intellectual property rights; and
• 7.2.2 includes a right for us to:
  • edit or modify your content (e.g., resizing, adjusting colours, adding text);
  • adapt it or incorporate it into other materials;
  • sub-licence it to third parties (including companies in our group) for the purposes described in these Terms; and
  • republish it in any media, worldwide.

7.3 You confirm that any content you submit:

• 7.3.1 is your own original work and does not infringe any third party’s rights;
• 7.3.2 is not defamatory, offensive, threatening, discriminatory, distasteful, pornographic or illegal;
• 7.3.3 can be lawfully submitted and used by us without breaching any contract or confidence; and
• 7.3.4 does not contain confidential or commercially sensitive information belonging to others.

7.4 If your content includes images or recordings of other people, you must inform them and obtain their consent for the use of the material for this promotion.

7.5 We may ask you to provide evidence of such consent and reserve the right to disqualify your entry if you cannot provide it or if we have doubts as to its adequacy.

7.6 You are not entitled to any fee or payment for granting this licence, and you may not revoke it unless we agree in writing.

8.1 Entry fees (where applicable) are non-refundable, except where a Draw is cancelled by us.

8.2 We accept no responsibility and shall not be liable to you for reasons outside our reasonable control, including but not limited to: technical failures, malfunctions, internet accessibility or availability, web congestion, acts or omissions of any service provider, unauthorised intervention, computer virus, tampering, fraud, or any other event that affects the running, integrity, fairness or administration of the Draw.

8.3 We reserve the right, in our sole discretion, to suspend, cancel or terminate any Draw in exceptional circumstances and to disqualify any person who directly or indirectly causes or attempts to cause the Draw to be terminated, cancelled, delayed or suspended.

8.4 We may vary these Terms or terminate, cancel, delay or suspend a Draw at any time if we believe it is reasonable to do so. If we terminate or cancel a Draw, we shall not be liable to you beyond the refund of any paid entries where appropriate.

8.5 Our decision in relation to any aspect of a Draw is final.

8.6 We give no warranty or guarantee as to the quality, suitability, or fitness for any particular purpose of any Prize. To the maximum extent permitted by law, all conditions, warranties, and representations (express or implied) are excluded.

8.7 To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable to you or any Winner for any loss, cost, expense, damage or other liability arising in connection with any Draw, except that nothing in these Terms shall limit our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence or for fraud.

8.8 Our total maximum aggregate liability to any Winner shall be limited to the total value of the Prize won.

8.9 Our total maximum aggregate liability to non-winners shall be limited to the amount paid by that entrant to enter the relevant Draw.

8.10 Except for any legal responsibility that we cannot exclude in law (such as for death or personal injury) or arising under applicable laws relating to the protection of your personal information, we are not legally responsible for:

• 8.10.1 losses that were not foreseeable to you and us when these Terms were formed;
• 8.10.2 losses that were not caused by any breach on our part;
• 8.10.3 business losses; and
• 8.10.4 losses to non-consumers.

8.11 Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights.

8.12 If any provision or part-provision of these Terms is or becomes invalid, illegal or unenforceable, it shall be deemed deleted, but this shall not affect the validity and enforceability of the rest of the Terms.

8.14 These Terms and any dispute or claim (including non-contractual disputes or claims) arising out of or in connection with them or their subject matter shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction.
